No matter how prepared you may feel, you're really never prepared for the diminishing of a loved one's cognitive and motor skills. It is humbling, challenging and, at times, overwhelming. Fortunately, a decision was made 4 years ago to move my mother to Signature Pointe on the Lake. What a wonderful experience! This past March 27, she fractured her hip in her apartment. The choice for post-surgery rehab/skilled nursing again became Signature Pointe. As her recovery from surgery and dementia progressed, as if in unison, the most trying decision, her future care, was now forefront. The need for guidance and support in selecting the care and caregivers for my mother was paramount. An introduction was mad to Adam Kill, Director of Memory Care at Signature Pointe. My family and I came into the meeting with much uncertainty pertaining to this looming decision. Immediately upon meeting Adam, he exuded confidence, caring and compassion; love of his work, for his caregivers and team, but there was also a real sense of love and caring for his residents and their families. His hands-on and easily accessible approach was extremely reassuring. Our uncertainity and I might say, skepticism, quickly faded and a confident decision was subsequently made. Adam has made remarkable and significant improvements within the Memory Care area of Signature Pointe and it's evident that his experience, professionalism and compassion have made the difference. Adam Koll's dedication combined with that of Kelly Wolfe, Executive Director of Signature Pointe resulted in the decision that my mother will soon be in her new Memory Care home at Signature Pointe on the Lake.

I must admit-having a loved one moved to a memory care floor at a senior home is a scary thought. HOWEVER, my family and I were incredibly impressed with everything about Signature Pointe. There are two different levels of memory care (assisted living memory care and skilled nursing memory care). In all of the research my family and I did, Signature Pointe was the only place to offer two different levels of memory care. The director of the memory care floor, Adam Koll, was INCREDIBLE!!! He was able to answer any and all questions, not to mention making us feel very comfortable with our decision. I was also able to see Adam interact with the memory care residents-seeing the resident's eyes light up when he walked into the room made me realize that Signature Pointe was the perfect place for my grandma!

Choosing a memory care facility for my father was one of the toughest decisions we ever made. We looked at several places but when we met Adam Koll, Director of Memory Care at Signature Pointe, we knew we had found the right place. Adam and his team provided my father with outstanding care. The staff at Signature Pointe treats the patients with care, respect and dignity! As my father's health declined, we were able to move him to the "Skilled Nursing" section of the memory care floor. This was a blessing because we did not have to move him to another facility and he was still under the care of Adam and his team (be aware that most pure memory care facilities do NOT have skilled nursing services on site). If you have a loved one that is in need of memory care services, please give Adam at Signature Point a call.
